Responsibilities include planning and coordinating tasks, preparing materials lists, ordering supplies, providing instruction, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, inspecting work quality, and maintaining accurate records in building information and maintenance management systems.

The Custodial Day Crew Manager, under the Associate Director of Custodial and Moving Services, oversees and supervises custodial crews across multiple campuses and locations. The engineer responds to service requests, maintains swimming pools, and keeps detailed logs of maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment for steam heating, chilled water, drainage, water distribution, and fire alarm/security networks to ensure a clean, safe campus. The mechanic also uses a computerized maintenance system for preventive tasks.
