POSITION:

Assistant Professor of Nursing: The School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor. The person appointed to this position will teach in either the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program or the Masters of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) concentration. Primary duties to include: teaching responsibilities for didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses. Effective teaching, research, creative activities, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding. Applicant must be a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- A Master's of Science in nursing is required.
- A current and unobstructed California RN license and a California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License
- A current national Nurse Practitioner Certification, and the American Health Association Basic Life Support Health Provider Certification.
- A minimum of two years of instructional experience.
- A minimum of two years of full-time practice as a nurse practitioner.
- Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methods, curriculum development, evaluations, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills not later than the first year of teaching.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to required qualifications, a Doctoral degree is preferred.

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Anticipated hiring range is $7331-$7481 per month for Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year).  As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.
