Job Announcement for Part-Time Faculty Lecturer Pool
The Kinesiology Department at San Francisco State University seeks applicants for its part-time lecturer faculty pool. We currently seek individuals with a background in the field of kinesiology, including expertise in movement science, exercise physiology, sports psychology, sociocultural bases of physical activity, and physical education. The Department of Kinesiology offers degree programs leading to a B.S. or an M.S. in Kinesiology. Students receive a comprehensive, high-quality education in Kinesiology and are encouraged to be physically active and develop fitness and skill in a variety of activities. Graduates leave the program prepared to embark on careers in fitness, physical education, coaching, community programming, sports medicine, sport management, allied health, or to pursue further graduate study. Minimal Qualifications: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., or equivalent) in Kinesiology, or related field. Applicants with a master’s degree may also be considered. Evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively provide instruction to college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Recent university/college teaching experience.
2. Professional or educational experience in the subdisciplines of Kinesiology (e.g., biomechanics, motor behavior, anatomical kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, physical education, sport psychology, and sociocultural bases of physical activity
3. Willingness to engage with university faculty development resources to enhance equity, social justice, and inclusion teaching practices.
