Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Associate Dean, College of Professional and Global Education, and receiving work lead direction from the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications, the International Marketing Specialist focuses on international marketing, and positioning CPGE to meet strategic and long term-objectives related to international student recruitment, international partnerships, international student services, global experiences and other assigned programs and services. The incumbent recommends marketing and communication strategies for his/her/their international portfolio, executes on the strategies, assesses outcomes, and reports outcomes. 

The Marketing and Communications unit in the College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE) works with CPGE leadership, program administrators (managers and directors), and other clients/stakeholders to develop marketing campaigns and communication plans that support the CPGE brand, products (e.g., program offerings), and services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee creation and distribution of international marketing materials, videos, advertisements, and promotional materials
  • Ensure brand messages are consistent
  • Implement Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing for international enrollments in all CPGE programs including development and maintenance of communication plans and marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with CPGE program managers and SJSU faculty to determine and recommend optimal mix of various marketing strategies for application, matriculation, Special Session, and online course enrollment
  • Coordinate with faculty and campus departments/units to promote international programs within campus (digital and on-site)
  • Provide messages, materials and links to international vendors, agents and proxies involved in recruiting international students
  • Organize and implement webinars and events to promote SJSU to international students
  • Develop and manage outreach activities to SJSU international students and alumni
  • Lead marketing strategies and projects related to international recruitment, partnerships, and programs
  • Provide marketing training and support to designated staff and student assistants
  • Write and update marketing plans for key international markets and programs on annual basis
  • Determine budget allocations and review financial reports to reach budgetary targets
  • Analyze market research and trends from industry and other sources
  • Manage annual surveys of key student groups

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, fine attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge in researching social media and other marketing strategies related to web sites
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Planning and detail-oriented project management skills knowledge of budgeting and purchasing processes
  • May be required to attend conference and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations
  • May include evening and weekend work, domestic, and international travel

 

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training
  • Four years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, marketing, communications, or relevant degree
  • At least two years of marketing to international students for a large public university
  • Excellent written communication skills (based on application material)
  • At least four years of professional marketing experience including social media and customer relationship management coordination
  • Experience writing for web, communication plans, advertisements, and collateral
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and website applications

 

Compensation

Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist, Exempt II
Anticipated Hiring Range: $6,180/month - $6,592/month
CSU Salary Range: $4,693/month - $8,489/month

Additional Information

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. SJSU will issue a contingent offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.
