Light Automotive Equipment Operator (2 Positions)

| The Light Automotive Equipment Operator primarily performs skilled operation of light automotive vehicles and equipment in support of campus grounds and maintenance operations. The incumbent operates equipment and vehicles typical of this classification, including light-duty (two-axle) trucks, riding mowers, small wheel-type tractors with attachments, sweepers, utility vehicles, and small loaders within standard capacity limits. The position’s primary function is the safe and efficient operation of light automotive and grounds maintenance equipment, with responsibility for performing routine servicing and minor maintenance such as safety inspections, fluid checks, and basic adjustments to ensure proper working conditions. The incumbent reports equipment malfunctions and coordinates needed repairs. In support of equipment operation, the incumbent performs a range of grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, planting, watering, and debris removal, as well as assisting with campus beautification and seasonal projects. Manual labor duties are performed in connection with equipment use, including loading and unloading materials. Work is performed in accordance with established safety practices, campus procedures, and applicable California Vehicle Code requirements. Equipment operated and duties performed are consistent with light automotive equipment as defined within the Equipment Operation Series and do not typically involve the operation of heavy construction equipment or vehicles exceeding the scope of this classification. |

Residence Conduct Coordinator (Student Services Professional III)

| The Residence Conduct Coordinator (RCC) supports the daily administration of the student conduct process and ensures accountability to University Housing policies. RCCs meet with students who have violated policies outlined in the University Housing Policy Guide and adjudicate conduct cases as their primary responsibility.
Although much of the work is performed independently, the RCC is a key member of the Residence Life team, which includes the Associate Director for Residence Life, three Residence Conduct Coordinators, three Residence Life Coordinators, the Senior Coordinator for Leadership and Development, the Senior Coordinator for Conduct and Compliance, and the Hub Program Coordinator. CSU, Chico houses approximately 2,200 students on campus.
In addition to case adjudication, RCCs provide conduct-related programming, customer service, resource referrals, and crisis response. The role requires handling complex and sensitive situations with sound professional judgment and effective counseling skills to support college students.
RCCs also co-supervise 14–20 Resident Advisors and contribute to community development. This is a live-in position that emphasizes student development and community management.
Residence Life staff participate in a rotating on-call schedule, providing 24-hour coverage as needed. Work hours are flexible and may include late nights, early mornings, and weekends, with opportunities for appropriate time off.
