Graduation Advising and Transfer Credit Specialists (GATCS) are student success champions, guiding students through key milestones—graduation, returning to college, or transferring in. Through one-on-one advising, drop-ins, referrals, workshops, and pop-up events, GATCS offer expert, personalized support to keep students on track toward their goals.
Reporting to the Assistant Registrar for Graduation and Articulation, GATCS handle complex student service tasks—blending policy knowledge, research, and problem-solving. They resolve academic scenarios independently, ensuring accurate credit evaluation and smooth degree progression.
With in-depth knowledge of CSU system, state, and campus policies, GATCS evaluate academic credit, articulate transfer coursework, and clarify graduation requirements. More than just processing records, they build strong relationships and help students understand and plan for academic success.
As trusted campus collaborators, GATCS support faculty, staff, and leadership in all matters related to academic credit and graduation. Their work directly advances Chico State’s goals in student retention, timely graduation, and institutional initiatives—making them vital to the student journey.
Why Chico State? This role offers more than a career—it’s a chance to grow professionally while enjoying a generous benefits package:
• 15 paid holidays, plus vacation and sick leave;
• Exceptional health plans, some with no monthly premium;
• CalPERS membership, with lifetime medical benefits for qualifying retirees;
